Hugo Teso introduces "Silicon Bird," a platform designed to teach cybersecurity skills specifically for aviation and aerospace. Motivated by the increasing demand for cybersecurity talent in the aerospace and defence sectors, and a lack of adequate training resources, the platform offers courses and tools Teso wished he had when he started his career 20 years ago. It aims to equip the next generation of cybersecurity professionals with practical skills.
The platform caters to all skill levels, covering both offensive and defensive security, risk analysis, and incident management. It is built on the principle of learning by doing, addressing the challenge of limited access to real aircraft and avionics systems. Silicon Bird provides a virtualized environment with labs and exercises focused on avionics systems and communication networks. This allows users to safely experiment, make mistakes, and learn from them without real-world consequences.
Silicon Bird offers cybersecurity training focused on aviation, allowing users to explore the inner workings of aircraft systems. Teso thanks Chema Alonso for his support and for providing a platform to share this initiative, emphasising the importance of sharing knowledge and creating resources in the cybersecurity field. He invites those interested to join him in this venture, offering a new way to learn and explore aviation cybersecurity.
